Padma x MAC

If you think you’re seeing a lot of MAC, you’re right! I had a catch up with them last week so I’m gradually rolling out the newer releases – coming to the end now, but actually cannot wait to get my hands on the forthcoming Nico Panda collection. Couldn’t be more up my street if it tried. But meanwhile, we have Padma x MAC, a collaboration with Padma Lakshmi.

I think you’d say the main event for this collection is the inclusion of two eye palettes, one of which I have here. This one is Desert Dusk, £35, but there is another called Sunset that features copper hit purple. Out of context, I wondered what I could do with Desert Dusk, but seeing the main picture of Padma it does look truly stunning with accents of blue on the inner eye corner and then smoked up with the brown. I also love that the packaging is so ornate – it looks so opulent.

There are also 3 double end liners (£19.50) with soft khol like texture – I’ve used the gold (other end silver) and it’s lovely although I like the sound of the deep plum and brown one.

Actually, the liners would be my top pick from this collection because I can see them being used over and over again, winter or summer, but as you can see above, there is a blush/highlight combo, £35 which I like for it’s realistic split – and not just a generic half and half. This one is Moon & Shine but there’s another with more peachy tones called Melon Pink.

In the swatch, I’ve started with the highlight/blush, then it’s the palette, then the liner and finally the lipstick in Sunset Rose but there are four other shades including a strong, blue toned red. The collection launches on 15th March.
