Origins Warm Down Lava Scrub

I’m a big fan of Origins and absolutely no fan of working out so their Post Work Out Paradise collection posed a bit of a problem! However, far from seeing this as a gym-bunny range, I’m seeing it as more of a lifestyle range – hello achy limbs from gardening/hoovering/darts or whatever has given your body more than its average level of movement. As well as the Warm Down Lava Scrub, there is a Hit Refresh Cooling Moisturiser and a Shower Off Exfoliating Body Wash.

I’ve been having a go with the Warm Down, which is a very nicely hydrating scrub that gives a very warm effect when you add water. So, apply it to post showered legs and arms, give it a good swirl around and rinse off. Self heating products aren’t new but this one is top of the game and – deal breaker for me – it smells of spearmint, not peppermint. I love spearmint. As well as the rush of heat and the skin smoothing properties, volcanic ash does a bit of purifying to remove sweat (erm, I’m not hoovering THAT hard) so that when you add your moisturiser, you’re putting it onto really clean skin.

The thing that’s a bit odd is that the three products come as 150ml and they’re quite heavy – it’s like adding a brick to your gym kit. I’m really hoping that these come out in more portable sizes. The other thing to mention is that they’re very much unisex and I think if you have a sporty man in your life and you’ve bought these, hide them. Because they will get nicked and at £29 a pop, that’s not even funny. They’re HERE.
