OPI Rainbow Connection Swatched

My sample of the super-glittery OPI Rainbow Connection turned up today and, well, super-glittery doesn’t even cover it. This is CHUNKS of the stuff, predominantly silver, but a pink, green, orange and blue multi-colour thing going on as well. With the sparkles all being different sizes and shapes it gives a very textured effect as well as sparkling. I love it at coat one because it looks really space-y like a coloured galaxy, but two and three are way OTT for me: you need to shake the bottle really well to ensure you get a brush loaded with glitter bits. I used it over a dark purple base in this instance – I’d love to try it over navy blue as well – with one coat I think it looks beautiful. What do you think?

One coat

Two coats

Three coats

  1. One coat is absolutely lovely and I think three coats, at a push, look lovely too! I like the shade you’ve put it over also.

    I like it…but I’d prefer Lippmann’s Happy Birthday I think!

  3. This is lovely, like you said the one coat gives such a pretty galaxy kind of look. I’d love to get this, but i’d only ever go full on 3 coat sparkle on my toes or my ring finger, bit too much for a whole mani I think!

  4. That looks gorgeous I love glitters and can’t wait for OPI’s autumn winter offerings 🙂

That’s one application? Wow that’s super glittery. I love my glitter but this looks a bit too big and chunky. If you want a really nice glitter topcoat I recommend Revlon’s “Belle”. I think most people would like it.

I love OPI, though I wouldn’t use this. Having said that, I don’t dislike it either.

  7. Hmmmm not the kind of polish look I usually go for. I like it with one coat, as you mentioned. How was the removal? Did it take ages to come off?

  8. I love this! Really unique and a bit more exciting then a normal glitter topcoat! Xx

  9. I love the 3 coats what does that say about me- eeek! xxx

  10. That is some crazy glitter! Love it!

  11. love it! You’d have to soak in acetone to get it off!
