Noir G De Guerlain

Okay, Guerlain have well and truly sent mascara up a level with the amazing Noir G. If you’re a Guerlain fan, then you’ll remember the ripples that Rouge G lipsticks caused with their integral mirrors and polished packaging. Noir G has all that weight and the mirror reveals itself on a click and pull system; then, a twist and the brush appears. And, best of all it is refillable; so once you’ve bought the case you don’t need to do it again when the mascara runs out.

The formula itself is apparently the purest black available, and it’s only with mascara (and black trousers, I find) that you start to realise how many shades of black there really are. It is also glossier than other formulas with a volume kick too, as well as ‘artemia salina’ a cell revitaliser. I’m not sure what this does exactly but will find out in due course.

And, typically of Guerlain, there is an extra surprise – a signature fragrance for Noir G – which makes you wonder for sensitive eyes, but those without will get notes of peach, crisp vegetable, rose and jasmine with bottom notes of benzoin and white musk. Wow. I’m all over this as next year’s major mascara – I don’t know of anything quite as exciting coming up that even comes close on presentation and innovation.

Price wise; probably not as bad as you’d expect at £35, with refills costing £19. It’s a Harrods exclusive from 19th January, and nationwide from February.

  1. Ooh this is intriguing. I love Rouge G’s and also Guerlain Le 2 mascaras, so if the formula is similar to the Le 2, then I’m definitely going to try this. Hope you have some news on the Guerlain spring collection soon, wink wink nudge nudge.

  2. Wow, I love mascara. Really @Anitacska?? Were both same brand. Thanks for sharing.
