Nivea 5-in-1 Micellar Water Review

I bought the Nivea 5-in-1 Micellar Water in my local supermarket where I think it was about £2.50 – Superdrug currently has it for £2.19. It’s an absolute bargain if you love a micellar – it’s my go to in the summer when I’m not wearing a lot of make-up and also my go to if I really cannot be bothered with anything more.

Nivea 5-in-1 Micellar Water Review

I quite honestly can’t fault this product – it removed my make up (I’d probably use a separate eye make up remover for mascara depending on how much was left on my lashes and my enthusiasm to be thorough) perfectly well, felt soothing and gentle in the process and my skin didn’t feel taut afterwards. I’m not sure what more you could ask of  a micellar. But, bonuses are that the bottle is 96% recycled and recyclable, it’s vegan, it’s fragrance free and you can use it on eyes, skin and lips. I’ve been using an expensive Dior Micellar which is more luxurious but if I put it next to the side of Bioderma, for example, I can’t tell any difference in quality making it an easy money saver without compromising on efficiency. Grab it where you see it!

Morning, once you’ve used a micellar water do you need to wash it off or rinse your skin afterwards? This has always confused me. Thank you.

No you don’t – it’s basically a water filled with micro dots of oil so everything should come off onto your cotton cleansing pad.

    Hello wonderful Jane!
Just wandered if you could recommend a cleansing balm? Really need a good one and Elemis collagen Rose stung my skin, the body shop doesn’t take it all off and now I’m at my wits end!! Thank you so much

Hi Sarah 🙂 I swear by Emma Hardie Cleansing Balm but concerned that you had a reaction to elemis which might be essential oil related. In which case, The Inkey List Oatmeal is good, as is Clinique Take The Day Off… annoyingly, the Cerave balm hasn’t launched in the UK yet.

It might be vegan but Nivea is not a cruelty free brand. So it’s a no from me.

  4. Hello, I need your help. Whenever I use the Nivea 5 in 1 micellar water, it burns my face and dries it out. Should I keep using it.

    1. Jane Cunningham

      No you shouldn’t.
