[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] If I could have a wish from technology it would be smellovision. Surely, surely it must be on its way somewhere? The Nishane Japanese White Tea & Jasmine Candle is something I would dearly love to be able to share the scent of – it’s just delicious.
Jasmine is one of my very favourite fragrances – we had some remedial work done last spring on the outside kitchen wall and our lovely, mature jasmine plant didn’t make it. I’ve never missed a plant more – just knowing that this year, once more, there won’t be that gloriously heady perfume in the evenings that floats its way through any open windows is just a bit heart-breaking.
The white tea notes (usually hard to get excited about) are the perfect foil for jasmine’s propensity to go overboard on general headiness. There’s a tipping point with jasmine that can fall over to a sort of decaying smell, and while I’d never suggest that nature can be improved upon by perfume, Nishane is very much onto something here and maybe in the way that one day we will be able to smell through email, maybe a hybrid white tea-jasmine plant will exist. For now though, that combination is candle only and while it’s very much in the luxury bracket if you need an olfactory segue into summer, the Nishane Japanese White Tea & Jasmine Candle is it. I’m a fan, I think I have said before, of candles for weddings – it seems that everyone already has what they need so an ambience maker and scent marker of the occasion seems appropriate. Nishane Japanese White Tea & Jasmine Candle is £85 HERE.
