[purchase/affiliate] First of all, if you’re finding the site glitchy, especially on mobile, please accept my apologies. The ad server needs some fine tuning and we are working on it … when I say ‘we’ I don’t mean me! Code is not my language. The goal of taking ads (I hate them too) is to release some passive revenue and being completely honest, I need to do it for keeping the site going to make any sense at all. So, all the apologies and please bear with me. Okay, to this absolute find of a lip balm from Naturium.
The Naturium brand, founded by Susan Yara (ex beauty journalist and founder of Mixed Make Up, a popular YouTube channel), was bought by e.l.f. last year for $355 million and at first, I didn’t get it at all. But, now I completely see how it fits into the e.l.f. portfolio. It’s less affordable than e.l.f. but still sits in the affordable bracket and at the moment, SpaceNK is the only stockist in the UK. Now, SpaceNK wouldn’t touch e.l.f. with a ten foot pole because it’s just too budget, but Naturium hovers on the acceptable for Space but it is still probably the most affordable brand that Space stocks. Which of course is a whole story of its own – that SpaceNK is looking price downwards rather than upwards.
The balm is £12 – this shade is Lychee. It’s got a beautiful red tint that’s a perfect ‘shy red’ – giving all the joy of a full pigment red but in a very pared back way. In fact, it’s a lesson in how much red you really need to bring vibrancy to the face and it turns out not to be very much at all. In wear, it behaves more like a gloss than a balm but still carries worthwhile ingredients that will nourish the lips, such as plant based esters (it’s a vegan brand), shea butter, capuacu butter and plant squalane. It’s very comfortable, softening and lasting and I’ll inevitably end up buying more.
There are four shades and one clear balm available and you can find them all HERE.
