Well, hello NARS Eye Paint! For those of us growing old waiting for the MAC Eye Glosses – should such a rumoured thing ever happen – these Eye Paints are totally filling that gap. A ten shade line-up launches on the 15th October. I have four pretties to swatch.

I can safely say that the texture is divine – so creamy, smooth and extremely lightweight – and I know from trial and error that you don’t need much at all to get a real colour splash.

NARS Eye Paint can be used in two ways – both as a shadow and as a liner, although for personal preference I’d say the texture is so creamy that I’d hesitate to use as a liner. Either way I think an eye primer is going to be essential.

The intensity is huuuuuge! And I didn’t use too much on the brush for these. They don’t lose any impact when dry either, hence the gloss reference – the metallics are certainly very sheen-y and almost wet-looking. On my arm from silver through to navy are: Interstellar, Iskandar, Solomon Islands and Ubangi. I did a little mix-up of Ubangi and Iskandar and got this:

So, if you invest in two, you get three! They’re £18.50 each.
