Nails Inc Runway Ready Set Review

[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] Just when I’d finished my leopard print accessories feature, along came this glamorous set from Nails Inc. The Runway Ready set features three autumnal shades: Call It Couture, which is a Dior-ish grey, All Out Influenced (a sparkling copper brown) and Trend Nude which is a shimmery oyster hue.

I’m always attracted to the greige scale because it looks so sophisticated – I’m seizing my opportunity to wear as much polish as I can while my nails, strengthened by summer, will allow it. My nails, in general, won’t grow much in winter so this is the time for me to make hay while the last of the sun still shines. Above (left to right) is All Out Influenced, Trend Nude and Call It Couture.

You can’t ever go wrong with Nails Inc to be honest – they’ve perfected the brush shape so that one swipe to lay down a coat is all that’s needed and usually, two coats will suffice. When I used to do a lot more nail swatches (while I had lovely strong nails), two coats was my limit – if the colour couldn’t perform at two coats then I had no time for it. I always, always use a quick dry top coat (Nails Inc or Chanel) and an undercoat (Chanel).

A quick story about the nail wheel (interesting to nobody but salons and fellow nail swatchers probably) – I used to buy a set of twenty or so (from China) to show the various colours I received but a few years ago, the suppliers all changed their manufacturer and what a mistake that was. The nature of the plastic changed glossy polish to matte so you could get no shine at all on the polish you’d just applied. The battered old wheel I’m using now is one of the old ones where I’ve chipped off the old swatch and added the new and I’m going to have to continue doing that until the wheel breaks or the suppliers switch back. The plus side is that this is a piece of plastic that’s being endlessly recycled. As you can see, I’ve had a little go at adding some leopard (ish) patterns to Trend Nude using All Out Influenced. I didn’t have a tiny paint brush to hand so I used something that’s a bit too cumbersome but you get the idea. All you have to do is paint little ‘c’s and maybe a rough kind of circle, depending on how fine your brush is. The pattern is on the box so an approximation of that is fun and easy. The set is £18 HERE.
