I’ve already had a little sneaky peek at these at the Superdrug press show, but now I have them in my hand – wow! They are SO pigmented.
I’ve actually stepped right out of my comfort zone, confronted my bright lipstick fear and tried two of these on. If you worry about how long they last, I can tell you that you should worry more about how to get them off. They are complete stayers. Micellar cleanser wouldn’t even scratch the surface in removal, so I had to switch to a creamy cleanser and even then, many swipes later….
See? The line up is as follows from bottom to top: Atomic, Criminal, Funk, Kooky and Reckless. The two that I tried on myself are Reckless and Criminal – I loved Criminal but not sure I could leave the house in it – and Reckless drained every last drop of colour out of my complexion!
They dry to a matte-velvet finish – so I guess my interpretation of that is a kind matte – one of my bug-bears about matte is that if you have any crinkles or creases on your lips they are magnified tenfold with matte coverage. However, for some reason, with the MUA Luxe Velvets that didn’t happen so much; they actually looked rather nice and probably the best £3 you’ll ever spend on a lip product. They’re launching 23rd of October – hurry up!
Elizabeth Arden Hyaluronic Acid Ceramide Capsules
I’d be prepared to put money down to bet that you won’t have experienced a skin care texture like this before...
One thing I would add in about these is that it’s important not to over-load the product on the lip – if you are too generous it can go flaky.
