The MUA Glitter Quakes are a really good idea; sparkled up crackles to eke out the crackle look to its very last. However, when I tested them, they didn’t crackle, which defeats the object entirely. The pink one crackled very, very slightly, but none of the others crackled at all. It’s not all bad news.. the effect they gave was one of matte polish with some shimmer which is a look all on its own. Maybe I got a bad batch, I’m not sure, but crackle, they did not.
They’re £2.99 at Superdrug.

Thanks for the review, now know to avoid these 😀 x
Ive seen pics on MUA blog and they seemed to crackle there, so hopefuly it was just an odd batch!:) *fingers crossed* x
Which polish did you try it over? Maybe the chemical reaction needed something that wasn’t contained in the other polish? x
The lack of crackle may be down to a slow dryig formula. I tried crackle polishes in the states years ago, then the advice was to use a hair dryer. You could try usig a hair dryer over this which would most likely force the polish to crack as it is drying quicker.
With my OPI crackle/shatter polish, it definitely needed a layer of something underneath, which you should try if you haven’t. I had tried to do it without a layer beneath, and that was unsuccessful – it had the matte, uncrackled effect you describe.
