Michael Kors fragrances are always an easy win on the olfactory front. They’re not ground-breaking, they’re not ‘experimental’ and they’re not edgy, but invariably, I find that I like them. Michael Kors Sexy Sunset, is, I think, the best yet (or maybe it’s just tapping into all the things I’m craving) for its burst of fruitiness followed by flowers.
I’m definitely picking up the pear and blackcurrent, and despite there being peony, gardenia, rose, magnolia and jasmine in the mix, I can only really pull out gardenia and jasmine. It does have a backdrop of vanilla, but it’s definitely a smooth, light vanilla and not that dirty, cloying vanilla that leaves your throat desperate for water.
The thread that runs through all of Michael Kors’ fragrances is femininity. I imagine he has a very definite idea of what is ‘feminine’ and he does manage to capture I think, a popular concept of the word. Michael Kors Sexy Sunset is a limited edition launching at The Perfume Shop only from 20th January, or nationwide from 3rd February. A 30ml bottle is £39.
