I’m delighted with my Messie Mat – a simple thing that I rather wish I’d thought of myself. As you can imagine, I am always playing around with make-up, so inevitably my work surfaces in the kitchen (where I do most of my testing and swatching) are testament to a khol drop too many.
Messie Mat is a wipable, portable surface that you just lay out and do whatever you’re going to do with your makeup. It’s really that simple, but knowing that any drop doesn’t matter at all because it all shakes away or wipes away, is an absolute bonus. And probably far more hygienic than any old random tea towel which is what tends to happen at the moment.
As I say, a simple thing, but you wonder how you did without. Messie Mats are £15 HERE.

£15? Blimey.
I love this and its a perfect backdrop for blog photographs!
I don’t see the difference of this product compared to a regular diaper changing mat? and for £15 it’s not worth the purchase sorry.
I think it’s more just a pretty accessory – you could, after all, use old newspaper for everything.. including diaper changing. If you like beauty accessories I think it’s a nice thing to have.
Hmm. Both comments that aren’t positive have received snippy replies.
Shame.
This sounds like such a clever idea especially if you are travelling. I always find that I seem to get my make up everywhere and worry that it might damage a table or something. I will definitely be investigating this product.

Lovely idea and would make a great gift for some of my beauty blogging friends!

Omg love this, just this morning I was trying to clean my grubby dressing table that gets full of makeup! Will definitely get one!
Wow! And here I was just tearing off sheets from an industrial strength paper towel roll as my makeup makeup mat.
I think it’s just a question of aesthetic Olivia… after all, we could tie our hair with string, right?
Hello Jane, could you tell me how big the mats are please? There’s no mention of it anywhere on the website.
approx 17 x 20 ins x
How big is it Jane? I’m always looking for pretty things to place products on for photos, but if I’m paying £15 I want it to be a decent size. xx

Excellent! Thanks Jane. xx
This would be good for resting your hand on to paint your nails. I usually do it with my hand resting on my leg and several pairs of PJ bottoms now have an interesting multi-coloured paint blob type effect around the knee area! x
It’s a good idea but it’s definitely not worth £15 (maybe £2 or £3). Also the pattern looks like a Cath Kidston wannabe.
