Melvita Nectar de Roses BB Cream

Here’s a little scoop on a rose scented BB that’s arriving with us in September. I get asked a lot about BBs for pale skin types and this one is paler than many so could be a good fit for those who struggle with the darker, more tan tones of many.

It’s pretty much blended right into the palest part of my arm, and looking at it half an hour on from when the picture was taken it’s almost imperceptible. It has colour adaptive qualities and comes in one universal shade, Nude Rose.

As well as being organic with a natural mineral SPF15, it’s got the Melvita Rose Nectar Solution (rose floral water, fresh rose extract and wild rose petals) which leaves skin feeling very hydrated and soft and also has a pro-biotic formula.  And the smell! If you love roses, you’ll love the sensory experience of this – a burst of roses every morning? Yes, please.

It will retail for £25.

  1. If you are paler, I would advise you to try to get a hold of an Asian bb cream (not the western versions by Asian brands). Because of the “whitening” or “glow” (but in a different way) trend, a lot of bb creams are quite a light colour. I am around NC30+ I think and warm toned and cannot wear most of the ones available at the local beauty store. Just a tip! Cheers.

Sounds lovely! I’m fair (think: Chanel ‘Clair’ 20, Bobbi Brown ‘Warm Ivory’; Laura Mercier TM in ‘Nude’) normally I use the second from lightest shade in most brands. I’ve found personally (after extensive market testing!) that the best BB creams for my colouring are: Erborian BB Cream 5-in-1 Light SPF25 (this is a Korean-French company, I believe); Estee Lauder Daywear B.B Anti-Oxidant Beauty Benefit Creme SPF35 in Shade 1 (Light) or Omorovicza Complexion Perfector BB SPF 20. All of these are lovely (EL is the thickest in texture of the 3) and I have them all on rotation. I wear a thin layer under my foundation or powder. Hope these are useful product recommendations!
