I thought I’d share my pictures from the Maybelline and Essie trend presentation; a lot of beauty brands do these presentations which both set trends for the following season and predict them. Sharon Dowsett was the make-up artist talking us through the demonstrations and creating the looks so it was great to see her at work. Although I feel a little bit cynical about some of the trends (a nude look AGAIN and a ‘fresh and flushed’ that’s seen every single spring), others are really inspiring, such as PlayGroup with slashes of nearly-neon just below the brows and Indian Summer that uses burnt orange as a key shade.

I’m not sure I could pull off teh burnt orange, or the book on my noggin for that matter 🙂
Thanks for the blog – it’s great to have an insider’s view of the industry. May I just say as an aside, that the pattern on that orange dress is extremely unfortunate.
that looks surprisingly fashion forward for Maybelline which I always associate with an extremely bland all American look. I’m impressed.
Loving the bold blues and greens. That’s something I can love!
