You might very well wonder what you’re looking at here….it’s the forthcoming Maybelline Master Contour V Shape Duo Stick that’s dual shade for quick contouring. Although it’s a quick and easy product to chuck in your bag in case your contours go awry, I’m not actually sure there is anything easy about it and imagine you’d have to be quite expert at blending and shading to get all the contour nuance you need from two shades.

I’ve had a little play with it although I do not contour and it didn’t take long at all before the darker colour got merged with the lighter shade – you need to be really careful to use it sideways on if you don’t want that to happen. That’s all very well at the very beginning of the stick but I imagine it could be all kinds of hot mess by the end.

This is so much not a me product but if you’re a masterful contourer and like a matte finish, it could well be a little godsend. The Maybelline Master Contour V Shape Duo Stick is £6.99 and should hit around May time.

This just screams gimmic to me, I think I would rather have two sticks? Not really sure what they were trying to do here… Or even better one side dark the other light rather than half and half? Meh. Highly doubt I would pick this up 🙁

  2. Ugh, I hate when the colors are too close together like this. Bad packaging. I’m not a contour person either…

I think a stick contour is a great idea, but the half and half thing not so much. Truthfully, the highlight shade is always used less so this product will end up lopsided real quick, So annoying because if they just released ordinary single sticks for contour and a separate highlight if they so desired this would be such a hit product. So far only NYX and Makeup Revolution have really got cream stick contour and highlight products.

In terms of satiety I think I’ve reached my limit in regards to contouring and “strobing”. I’m having flashbacks to when the BB trend started to seep into nail care and hair care. I mean BB nail varnish…. Swings and roundabouts-not using a matte blusher was considered a faux paux but with all the highlighters flying around and the layering of “blush toppers” on blusher I think the penny will soon drop tht we used to have these things called shimmery blushers which incidentally I happen to be craving for spring 🙂 Viva the circle of life in beauty!

  5. I love this idea so much because it’ll make it easier for me to touch up my makeup after a workout. I am just concerned about the colors blending together since they are so close together. I’m willing to give it a try tho.
