[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] Mavala is always reliably affordable and fun at Christmas – I have a whole host of glitters and metallics to show you. I have some little gauze bags left over from a set I bought a couple of years ago so I’m adding a metallic and a glitter to each one to make some small table gifts for when I’m out with my friends for festive fun.
Glitter polish is a double edged sword – on the one hand it looks so pretty and on the other, it’s an effort to get it off again. Personally, I’ve found that cheap and cheerful Cutex does the best job and the trick is to soak the nail first with remover so ensure your cotton pad is really wet, let it linger a while on each nail before starting to remove, one nail at a time. It’s more time consuming than regular polish and don’t forget to really condition after you’ve done that soak and removal because your nails will be dry. It’s worth it every now and again for the glitz and glam of a perfectly polished sparkly nail.
First, the metallics on the nail wheel above: Pretty Ebony (not metallic), Pretty Platinum, Pretty Gold, Pretty Copper and Pretty Silver.
And the glitters: Pink Fizz, Red Fizz, Blue Fizz, Silver Fizz, Gold Fizz and Green Fizz.
The fun is pairing them up – I’ve had a go with some suggestions that will look gorgeous together: Pretty Silver with Blue Fizz (very ice queen), Pretty Platinum and Red Fizz (jewelicious!), and Green Fizz and Pretty Gold (opulent glamour).
Pink Fizz with Pretty Bronze (ditzy sparkle), Gold Fizz and Pretty Copper (warm and wonderful) and Silver Fizz over Pretty Ebony (my favourite).
And here they are, all wrapped up. I think I saw that Flyingtiger stores have similar bags (HERE) if you live near one but from memory, I think I got mine from Amazon. Mavala polishes are £5.44 HERE.
