When I posted this up on Instagram (@britbeautyblog), I asked people to guess what brand this is. I got everything from Charlotte Tilbury to MakeUp Revolution, but one thing is for sure, it doesn’t look like M&S. The Marks & Spencer Autograph Autumn Beauty Collection is in rose gold, and so beautifully done, too – it doesn’t slip off into that brassy look that some rose golds do. Above is the Pure Colour Multi Bronzer, £12.50. This is a very, very lightly pigmented bronzer – I’m not sure I’d call it a bronzer at all. When I tried it on my face though, it does give cheekbones that sheer illuminated look with no obvious glitter chunks and some warmth (but it is shimmery). If any pale tones have ever struggled with bronzer being too dark or too orange, this could be the solution. However, for now, it’s in my drawer as a highlighter.
One of the other key items in the Marks & Spencer Autograph Autumn Beauty collection is the quad palette, £12.50. Again, pigment is light, but buildable, with some lovely, warm shades that are so easy to wear.
The shades are sheeny without being over the top – I’d easily wear all of these colours, either individually or as a smoky eye look. I find its best to use an eye primer with these textures.
The collection (there are more pieces that I’ll show later on) launches on 28th August.
