[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] It’s not often I do such speedy reviews on skin care – I only received Marine Elements Ultra Soothing Face Mask yesterday – but it came at such a fortuitous time and proved to be exactly the thing my skin needed after a day of taking make up on and off what felt like a hundred times.
My default for skin soothing is REN Evercalm but I have to say that Marine Elements Ultra Soothing Face Mask did a grand job of bringing down redness and taking the heat out of my sad complexion. I could feel that the skin over my cheeks was taut and just looking in the mirror I could see it was reddened. I had a couple of glasses of wine with a friend and that didn’t help either so my skin was just waiting to test this product. It’s formulated for anyone with dry, flaky and irritated skin so is free of colourants, alcohol, dye, silicone and more. Marine Elements takes additional ingredients from the sea – sea chamomile and green algae – along with known soothers such as bisabolol and arnica.
The texture is smooth but dense and it’s not going to let one more drop of moisture out of your face for as long as you are wearing it. You can easily keep it on overnight if you are very dry. It’s acting as both a barrier and a moisturiser (tetrapeptides, hyaluronic and shea) and is exceptionally effective. So much so that you can use it on eczema and rosacea and on children over 3. I feel it’s worth having in the beauty cupboard for too much sun days, wind burn or this crazy windy weather that together with the sun and rain playing hide and seek is a recipe for skin that feels like sandpaper. This morning, after leaving it on overnight, I am a woman restored!
The Intensive Face Cream has the same credentials in a lighter weight formula – you can use it day or night actually, so it’s versatile in that respect. You end up with a light barrier film feel on your skin which you will either like or you won’t – I prefer weightless but trying skin times need more tolerance and I’m treating it like a Barbour for the skin. Marine Elements is better known in countries like Spain and Italy – it’s the first time I’ve come across it here but it’s reasonably priced at £29.99 for the cream, £28.99 for the mask, Gentle Cleanser is £17.99 and Hand Cream is £14.99. All the products feel like they’re built for the job of protecting sore and dry skin and acting as an SOS when needed. A good find I think but perhaps best for those who struggle to keep a hold of moisture on a regular basis. You can find Marine Elements HERE and I’ve literally just discovered that the mask is on offer at £18.99.
