[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] You can smell this before you even open the bottle, can’t you? Well, actually, without wanting to sound like a smug know-it-all, you can’t. It’s totally unexpected so on the one hand, those with olfactory visions of wild strawberry notes should pass it by, but on the other hand, it’s such a beautiful, fresh floral with only the very lightest possible touch of actual strawberry, you’d be missing out if you did.

MALIN + GOETZ Strawberry is more of a musky white floral that’s light and bright – strikingly fresh actually for what is essentially a floral that sounds like a fruit. There’s bergamot, pink pepper and orris root with the latter being the master stroke of this fragrance.

Orris root can give a creamy, milky skin like scent which means it settles on anyone and instantly feels familiar and at home. MALIN + GOETZ Strawberry came out as a limited edition in 2021 and has now come full circle to enter the permanent roster of fragrances that this brand has to offer. In my previous review, I said that the strawberry note is tantalizingly close but you will never get the full jam and I stand by that – it’s plant not fruit but boy, it is pretty! I think I would recommend the Perfume Oil, £29 HERE, before the full EDP, £78 HERE, unless you are fully prepared to put your nose to the strawberry note search.
