There is so much newness from MakeUp Rev that I’m going to break it all up into two.. possibly three posts… see how we go, but I think the products that are the most anticipated are the Makeup Revolution Salvation Palettes – five 18 shade palettes, each containing a mix of shimmer and matte shades. I can’t swatch all of them (I’ve never wished for more arms before now!) but have snapped each one.

Welcome To The Pleasuredome is a mix of neutral colours with a couple of vibrant colours and some deep, dark mysterious shades. With all the palettes, I’ve noticed the pigment is strong BUT, because Rev is a budget brand, I’d always advise using a primer to keep the colours for longer.

I’ve done quick pics of each one so you can see the names.. that was a long old job for someone – 18 x 5!

So, here’s Run Boy Run – again, neutrals, this time on the pink spectrum with some deeper, more complex shades at the end. I love that pink.

And, the names!

I did a sneaky Instagram of Dia De Los Muertos yesterday with a multicoloured skull on the packaging (you can just see the bottom in the corner of the pic). This time there are some very brights! And, Dia De Los Muertos is the one that I’ve swatched.

I don’t have enough arm for the whole palette… so below is the bottom row.

Leaving out the acid yellow, the matte neutrals in this palette are just beautiful – totally my colour palette.

And the names.

A super-smoky look for Girls On Film – moody neutrals for sultry eyes.

There are some very creative names here! Frenzy All Down Your Spine? Blimey.

And, the one we’ve all been waiting for, What You Waiting For? This is kind of my favourite of the Makeup Revolution Salvation Palettes – the colours are more gentle in the front half of the palette with touches of pink and the second half is deeper and more intense.
I’m not sure how much stock Makeup Rev has but I am putting money on it that these limited edition palettes sell out pretty quick! Especially at £6 each. They’ve literally just launched HERE.

They look Amazing!
Can’t pop through my letterbox soon enough! 😀
Thanks for sharing those pics 🙂 Looking forward to seeing the other new products as well.
The palette names are from songs I believe – definitely Welcome To The Pleasure Dome by Frankie Goes to Hollywood and Girls on Film by Duran Duran and the shade names are lines from those songs so I had great fun singing the words and seeing which colours related to them:
See them walking hand in hand across the bridge at midnight
Heads turning as the lights flashing out it’s so bright
Then walk right out to the fourline track
There’s a camera rolling on her back, on her back
And I sense the rhythm humming in a frenzy all the way down her spine
Yes, whoever picked the shadow names likes their 80’s pop. The Frankie one is the album – which is clever because you’d have to really liked them to get the references. Not sure about the other two though – Stray Cats and Bon Jovi?!
Welcome To The Pleasure Dome is actually the single rather than the album of the same name judging by the shadow names though I needed to look up the lyrics as I could only get a few from memory like “shooting stars never stop even when they reach the top”, “there goes a supernova”, “long way from home”, “going home where lovers roam”. No idea on the other 2 songs though!
Gave into Google!
Run Boy Run is a song by Woodkid: http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/woodkid/runboyrun.html and Dia Die Los Muertos is the Day of the Dead but the lyrics are Fall Out Boy, Get Busy Living Or …: http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/falloutboy/getbusylivingorgetbusydyingdoyourparttosavethesceneandstopgoingtoshows.html. Clever!!!!
You’re right about Frankie, I should have checked my CD before posting!
I love the grown up take on these palette, and the names haha. Such pretty shades, I seriously want them all, shame their limited edition because I have a holiday to pay for and then spending money saving and bills, bills, bills and my two kiddies birthday’s are fast approaching. x
