VIVA-GLAM-14
I should think it’s pretty common knowledge by now that Rihanna is the spokesperson for MAC Viva Glam 2014 launching this month. If you aren’t familiar with the Viva Glam campaign, it’s an annual fundraising by MAC to raise money to help those affected by AIDS, no matter where in the world that might be. I know the colours are always a big focus (always red), and this shade hasn’t ever been in the MAC line-up, but I thought I would look at what one purchase of a MAC Viva Glam Lipstick or Lipglass does for others.
One MAC Viva Glam Lipstick buys:
One party pack for a child to celebrate Christmas or birthday.
Two Safer Sex kits.
One school starter stationery kit for a child orphaned by AIDS.
Two hours of childcare for a woman visiting for medical check ups.
Twenty three female condoms or two hundred and thirty three male condoms – that’s a LOT of safe sex.
One vegetable seed starter pack for a community garden.
The list is almost endless. And all that from a lipstick. So, it’s kind of not about the colour at all. But, I’ve swatched it because it’s gorgeous – a little bit of shimmer (Rihanna’s previous MAC collabs have erred to matte) and to my eye, a blue based red.
MAC Viva Glam 2014 Lipstick will be £15 and Lipglass will be £14. The full RRP (minus VAT) goes straight to helping those affected by HIV and AIDS.
