There’s a very tiny buzz on the blogosphere just now about the all-black MAC Style Black collection launching in October. Scooting round for images, I discovered that all the blogs that have already flagged this collection up have removed the pictures, with the exception of a couple, and I can’t find out why (yet!) The above image is borrowed from www.ladies-beauty.com so by reprinting it here, I guess if there is an image issue I’ll find out about it soon enough. Expect to see black lipsticks, volcanic ash face masks and Mineralize eye shadows in black with hints of coloured pearl. It’s already popping up on Ebay.
All products are sent to me as samples from brands and agencies unless otherwise stated. Affiliate links may be used. Posts are not affiliate driven.
I’m getting scared about the future of beauty. Eyebrowless women. Black lips. What are we facing?! I’ll be curious to see what you can get your hands on for more information. I’m dying to know what MAC has in mind for us. I’m not sure about this whole “mime beauty” thing. But, I am a sucker for style so I might be buying a lip shade called “black lust” or something soon. OY VAY! xoxoxoxox
i love that you’re testing the waters! now i want to know why it’s been removed too 🙂
There are swatches a plenty from Style Black on Specktra.
yes, you are right Vex, but on sites such as http://www.abrilliantbrunette.com, and several others its been removed…although saying this, I’ve done another search today and a few more pics have popped up.
And http://www.1fashionaddict.wordpress.com, and vampirefreaks.com….
A very (tiny) niche product. I’m surprised M.A.C. would bother.
P.S. someone remarked about eyebrowless women. That’s a beauty oldie. At different times throughout history it was fashionable to not only shave your eyebrows, but your hairline to create a high forehead look over which you wore those big head-dresses. Made you look like something from Plan 9 From Outer Space, but considering some of the laughable “trends” we’ve seen in the 20th century……
I’m actually excited for this collection. Australia has it (or so I have been led to believe) and it looks great. Black eye products with flecks of colour.. gorgeous for winter.
I actually quite like the look of some of this – although Linda Mason has been doing a very good sheer black gloss for years. I don’t think I am going to buy it though; MAC nearly always disappoints me in the execution with its LE stuff.
this will be puuurfect timing for Halloween! I think sales will fair well if launched early October.
I actually think this is causing a buzz because for once MAC are not churning out pastels and neutrals in a demi-shade darker/lighter than the colors in the permanent line – about bloody time too!
I loooove this collection! I have the eyeshadows and they are amazing!
