MAC Mineralize Shadow x 4 March 2014

The new MAC Mineralize Eye Shadow X 4 shades are scheduled for a March launch, but well worth the wait if my sample is anything to go by. Mineral make up isn’t, by a long stretch, my favourite kind of make up, but I love this A Harvest of Greens palette which is one of six new X 4 palettes to come.

They’re very pigmented – I particularly noticed it with golden shade and the gold-green colour reminds me of Chanel Peridot. The other two shades I could take or leave but know I’ll be using the green and gold a lot. So, the other palettes are A Glimmer of Gold, A Waft of Grey, A Sprinkle of Blue, A Medley of Mauves and A Party of Pastels (I love the sound of the pastel palette). The pricing also puts into perspective the £65 tag on the forthcoming neutral palettes with 15 shades in each. For the Mineralize quads, the price is £33.

  1. I do love mineral makeup – but £33 for 4 is defo very pricey. The 15 palettes, though not cheap defo have to be better value for money. Mac is after all the Holy Grail what it comes to shadow. I like the sound of the pastels though.

  2. The golden green colour is gorgeous!

  3. Is there a particular reason why you don’t love mineral makeup? I really like it and was just wondering if it has something bad I should know about? It is quite pricey but I am in love with that green xx

Well, I find it quite drying to be honest…and dusty pots of loose mineral drive me mad!

      1. Ah right. I agree with the dusty pots, I’m constantly cleaning them with a makeup wipe. I have pretty oily lids so the drying is probably a good thing for me!

The 2nd lightest colour looks a lot like a mineral version of sumptuous olive?!

  5. Lovely colours and a fantastic quad – it does remind me A LOT of some of the Avon ones I’ve been seeing. Similar set up/colours, though I’ve yet to try out the Avon for pigmentation! Pricey but you do get what you pay for with Mac!

  6. It’s really nice but it reminds me of the MUA ones, and they’re not bad.

I love anything Mac and so will definitely be interested in these. Is there a set date in March yet?
