MAC Limited Edition Hint of Hollywood Kits

[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] Double MAC this week – nothing for ages and then it all comes at once. I like this Hollywood themed collection (which actually is reminding me a lot of a past collection and I cannot remember which… I know someone will know..) for it’s mix of kits that always make such good gifts.

The Hint of Hollywood collection features a mix of brights, neturals and deeps – the Bright Lip Kit above features Love Me Lipstick, Lipglass and Prep & Prime Lip. The Lipglass in shade Cadillac has a shimmer in the semi-translucent formula that’s delicious and feels like it’s meant to be there (unlike some shimmers where you wished they hadn’t bothered to mess up a perfectly good colour with glitter!) so you can double up or wear either alone.

As you can see from the swatch, Love Me Lipstick (satin) in Do You Have Valet? can be worn quite lightly as well as full on. To my eye, it has a shot of raspberry to it which is unexpected because the bullet shade looks more scarlet. The kit (box is featured in the main picture) is £40 HERE which actually doesn’t feel too steep for three products, especially as a single Love Me costs £16.50. It would be helpful if the brand put the finish texture on the box for those who don’t know MAC textures off by heart. There are two other colour-ways for this kit.

Next up – and up in price – is the Hollywood Secrets Lip Vault which is also remarkably good value at £65. There are three limited edition lipsticks in Matte and Amplified and three matching Lipglass shades.

First in the line up is Apres Soiree (matte), then The Envelope, Please (amplified) and #Winner (matte).

MAC Limited Edition Hollywood KitsIn the Lipglass selection, it’s firstly #Winner, Apres Soiree and The Envelope, Please. So, a bit of everything in this collection (gifting tip – buy it, split it three ways and rewrap in a little gauze bag). It’s HERE. There’s a little kit called Chateau Glow with three Lipglass shades in light, milky shades and a clear glass for £25 that I like a lot because it’s such an easy wear for over any other colour or alone. It’s HERE. Maybe best of all is the Hint of Hollywood Mini Lipstick Kit (£45) HERE with five different coloured and textured minis including Ruby Woo because a mini MAC is always a delight.
