I just got sent a couple more bits and pieces from the MAC Lightness of Being collection, so I thought I’d get them swatched up for you to have a look at. Above is Skinfinish in Perfect Topping. If you haven’t used a MAC Skinfinish before, they’re designed to be used all over the face (or point of, if you prefer) to give a lustrous finish to your makeup. They do do exactly that, although I’d hesitate to use them during the day – think more candlelight glow which kind of needs the evening to do the job properly. Perfect Topping is all pink/gold nuances – it’s really pretty and I should think would last for nearly ever because it’s quite some chunk of makeup!
On the right is Mineralize Glass in Boundless Energy. Nothing could be more inappropriately named – there is literally no colour to this – it’s pretty much a clear gloss. The Mineralize Rich Lipstick in Touch The Earth is a bit baffling as well – it’s a cold beige/brown, which is hard to do! Once on the lip, there’s no warmth at all and it made me look a bit ill. It’s described as a ‘light wood brown’. I don’t know who it would suit – but certainly not me!
All together the swatches look quite pretty, but individually, the only product that shines is the Skinfinish. I think you need to do some careful buying if you’re after anything from this collection – a lot of the shades are just a little bit ‘off’. You can find MAC Lightness of Being HERE.

I bought that Sinkfinish on Saturday and I love it! I didn’t own any Skinfinish before & didn’t know how it’d be different from a highlighter but of course it is! The glow is more subtle but lovely nonetheless. The knit pattern is interesting and I can see it lasting me years too.
I looked at this collection online when it came out. I was a bit horrified at their promo pics as I thought the model looked ill. Perhaps the shades would suit someone, but I’m sure that with my coloring and even the best application, they would make me look washed out. Thanks for your review and swatching!
The skin finish does look pretty beautiful in my opinion, and something I could definitely see myself using! But I agree that the lip products do look sort of dull…
