MAC Glitter And Ice

Wow.. some really strong visuals coming from MAC for their holiday collection; I’m not a big MAC follower so unlike some bloggers I can’t really tell what is a re-release and what isn’t. However, I love the whole silver theme of MAC’s collection..suddenly gold isn’t looking that sharp any more. It launches on 1st November.

    Hi Jane, I can’t easily answer my e-mails at the moment so this seemed the easiest way to answer you, just so long as you haven’t stopped moderating your comments recently.

    Water is continually being lost across the skin and replaced from inside your body. Ideally these two processes should balance out, but if you are losing it quicker than it is being replaced your skin will get drier.

    It isn’t so much the cold that is the problem in winter as the low humidity. At low temperatures the air is simply drier, and on cold frosty days this is when your skin has the most problems retaining its moisture.

    If it gets really bad you get a sort of feedback loop that builds up. As your skin becomes dry, the very dryness itself reduces the ability to hold the water in.

    The other complication is wind. A steady flow of air over your skin increases the rate of moisture loss as well. This is particularly a problem on the lips and around the eyes.

    The best remedy is simply finding a decent moisturiser, or using more of the one you usually use. A lip balm is helpful too. There is no particular reason to seek out any special products, just find one or more that suits your particul
