So, if you’re wondering what on earth is going on with my banner, it’s all in celebration of the MAC Archie’s Girls collaboration. While Archie’s girls, Betty (blonde) and Veronica, might be more recognisable Stateside than here, they’re pretty famous everywhere, for their endless quest to capture the heart of Archie (in the middle of the pic above.. in the middle of my shiny new banner is me!) – the girls are love rivals, if you like. They first appeared in 1950. MAC has put together a collection based on Betty and Veronica launching in March. Bearing in mind that Betty is characterised as a ‘girl-next-door’, while Veronica is a little more racy and rather spoilt, the collection is split into a darker Veronica style palette, and a lighter, Betty style.
I have a couple of swatches: obviously I am leaning toward the Veronica side of the colour spectrum!
The shades are all beautifully deep: I’ll definitely be wearing that dark purple.
I think that Boyfriend Stealer (see what they did there?!) Lipstick is going to be THE sell-out – it’s a deep, semi-saturation wine stain and totally vampy. I tried it on myself and oh my! It’s absolutely wicked – in a good way!
See what I mean? When it’s on the lip it is totally Cruella! This collection previews at Selfridges from 7th February.
Anyway, that’s my round up – I am genuinely thrilled with my banner (which isn’t sponsored by the way), drawn by Archie Illustrator Dan Parent, and I’m looking forward to seeing the range on shelves.
