It’s very hard to justify spending £38 on a lip balm, especially when it’s not a giant pot, but a simple 5ml. However, I’ve been testing luxury brand, Nubo, and it has to be said it’s not your usual lip balm. The big sell for me is that Instant Lip Perfection, SPF15, isn’t flavoured with mint; one of my pet hates..Instead it has a mildly fruity scent that doesn’t interfere with anything you eat or drink (unlike MINT!!). It’s beautifully packaged and the silver tube lid is sprinkled with crystals. The balm itself is formulated with ‘Cell Dynamic actives’ (huh?) and hyaluronic acid to smooth fine lines and increase lip volume. I don’t notice any lip volumising and there is certainly no tingle normally associated with volumising, but what this balm certainly has is staying power. Two hours after application, even with lipgloss on top, I can still feel a (not unpleasant) waxy barrier and my lips are ultra smooth. Insant Lip Perfection also promises to enhance natural lip colour – I think it might have done that but just can’t be 100% certain I’m not just imaging it. The upshot is that the product performs so well, it’s probably well worth the splash out.
