L’Oreal Paris Nude Magique Cushion

I first posted about L’Oreal Paris Nude Magique Cushion in February when Mr BBB had been in the US where this product had already launched. So, finally it’s here and I gave it a rave review then and still do now. L’Oreal does foundation really well – in fact, I think it’s their point of excellence and renders old advice about always splashing out on a base completely useless. This stuff is £9.99.

What hadn’t launched in the US back in February was the Glam Bronze Cushion – self explanatory – but I notice it’s on offer for £7.99 HERE. I have to admit to a blogger fail that I’ve been caught out with before – the shades for the L’Oreal Paris Nude Magique Cushion are on a sticky label that covers the opening. So after I’d taken off all the labels to open the product and swatch, I got that head-desk feeling when I realised that I can’t tell you which shade is which!

If you haven’t tried a cushion foundation before, then I’d highly recommend this, especially if you get along with L’Oreal bases in the first place. The texture of the coverage is medium weight, fluid and easily blendable, that leaves skin looking a little dewy and lively.  It’s an any age product because it doesn’t seem to seep into lines or creases or give any dry feeling to the complexion and dewy is the older woman’s complexion friend. Apart from the fact that you get less product than if you bought a bottle of Lumi Magique, there’s nothing not to like here.

I’ve done a selection of swatches because there is just no point in me guessing at which shade is which, but the end shade is the bronze. I’m going to take one of these on holiday with me because I think it will bypass the liquid allowance (don’t quote me on that – I could well be ‘that’ person in the queue throwing it in the bin under the watchful eye of a stern customs officer) and I’m a hand-luggage only wherever possible. L’Oreal Paris Nude Magique Cushion is HERE.

  1. I just tried it out this morning for the first time, and totally agree with you about the dewy finish being fab at my age. I wondered about whether it would get around the ‘liquids on flights’ rules – I’m a hand luggage only flier as well

  2. I really want to try these, they look fabulous! Interesting point about the hand luggage, can’t wait to see if it gets through!

  3. You’ve convinced me! I’m getting involved! Please do report back if it’s hand luggage friendly – I HATE the Carousel of Stress and am hand luggage only wherever possible!

I’ve tried to purchase a couple of times but the palest one is never in stock – but I did try the bronze one which I have to say I love! I’ve only ever tried powder bronzers before and even then find them a tad scary but this bronzer blends out so beautifully, a little goes a long long way! I’ve worn it half a dozen times and I’m not kidding but each time a friend or other has remarked how well I look – so a def re-purchase coming from me.

Thanks for the feedback Fi 🙂

  5. Interesting to try this product!!!

  6. I’m not sure how hygienic cushion foundations are compared to liquid foundations in a pump which seem much more sanitary. Would a damp product (I’m avoiding the hideous word “moist”!) which you regularly put your fingers/sponges in, breed bacteria?

In theory yes, but as long as you’re not dipping dirty fingers in it and don’t keep it forever and a day, you should be fine. You can give the sponge a good clean every few days anyway – it dries out really quickly. I’d definitely advise, if you have an active spot, to do that daily anyway while the spot is there.

Personally I don’t even use the sponge – it just makes the whole compact so messy – I may use the sponge on the go to touch up though. I just dip my normal clean (ish!) foundation brush into the cushion as that seems to pick up enough – not sure if it will work as well as the product runs out though!

I think that’s a better way to do it because that sponge!!

  7. I’ve been seeing this everywhere and I would really love to try it. The finish on your arm is totally different from what I was expecting. I’m still in.

  8. I want to try these desperately! I’m going to have to pop into town later and source these outs, and hope that the lightest shade is pale enough!
