If you’re on the hunt for the perfect spring mattes, then the L’Oreal Paris Miss Denim Glam Matte collection will probably tick that box. A collection of four vibrant colours, they’re exactly the lift in colour mood that warm days require.

Lynsey Alexander, L’Oreal Paris UK Make-Up Artist, showed me how to apply – if you see how the product goes on in the swatch – a little thick and shiny – you need to buff it into the lip to get a smudged matte effect that doesn’t look at all heavy.

See? L’Oreal Paris Miss Denim Glam Matte looks completely different once it’s had a little buff with a finger. The mattes claim a non-drying formula – but don’t they all? – I haven’t put it to the test yet (if it turns out super-drying I will flag up). I’ve swatched all the colours, but be warned, my camera went into melt-down faced with the blurring effect, so they are a little, er, blurry!

As part of the Miss Denim collection, there are also four shades of Jeans Effect nail polishes. The texture is what we would already know as sand with a rough finish. Although the colours are great, personally, I feel the texture belongs to last year (or the year before). Finally, there are two Bright Eyes Superliner Perfect Slim in a teal blue and vibrant green – I accidentally left the lid off mine (I know.. yet another #bloggerfail) and it’s dried out totally.

The L’Oreal Paris Miss Denim Glam Matte collection launches in May; Glam Mattes are £7.99, Miss Denim Nails are £4.99 and Superliners are £6.99.
