Here’s a little look at the L’Oreal Paris Color Riche Top Coats heading our way soon. We’re a little bit behind the US (and never more so than with Maybelline who have leather effects and polka dot effects coming but not to the UK for ages) who I think have these already.
So the top coats are quite textural, with the exception of Smoky, which is a grey wash (Dior did this not very successfully a while back) that changes the tone of your existing polish. This is the one I am least excited about because pretty much all it does is change, say red polish to er, a darker red polish when really, you could have just chosen a dark red originally. However, the others are far more exciting. Confetti (the silver speckled polish) gives a lovely distribution of black and white dots in varying sizes.. pop this over a grey or mauve-grey polish and it looks amazing. Gold Lurex is a golden shimmer.. very shimmery, to make nails instantly twinkle – there is a Diamond Lurex version as well.. the same, but silvery. There is also a blue shade, Saphyr Lynx, and as soon as I get information on that I’ll post it. At £4.99 a pop, they’re just a great way to get more from your mani. They haven’t launched yet – I’ll keep you posted.

I haven’t seen these in the US yet, but I’d love to get their version of the Rock Coat. That would effectively double my nail polish choices. Plus, I’m kind of over glitter.
