Okay, so the name is a bit of a mouthful but my heart went boom when I tried the L’Oreal Paris Color Riche L’Extraordinaire glosses. I didn’t even expect to like them to be honest, but they’re such a rush of colour to the lip – and so light on the lip for a gloss that I’m hooked. L’Oreal Paris Color Riche L’Extraordinaire glosses aren’t weightless; there is a tiny bit of tack to them but they’re giving a lot of gloss for not a lot of stickiness.

In terms of colour, L’Oreal Paris Color Riche L’Extraordinaire are mid point in saturation, I’d say – not pigment packed like OCC – but certainly have a lot of depth of colour. The formula is an oil and pigment mix and L’Oreal talk about ‘magnified’ colour – that description certainly resonates and to me, seems accurate because the colours are somehow ‘more’. The oils used, by the way, are Argan, Lotus flower, Camelia Seed and Rose Canna so the claim is that you get balm qualities from a gloss.

To the shades, from right to left: Rouge Soprano (301), Rose Symphony (201), Nude Vibrato (600), Malto Mauve (500), Ruby Opera (304) and Tangerine Sonate (204). L’Oreal Paris Color Riche L’Extraordinaire glosses are launching this month (they may already be in some stores) for £6.99 each – stellar price for a gloss that behaves like premium glosses do – better, in fact.
