L’Occitane Solidarity Soap

I love it when things like this pop up! Everyone needs soap, right? L’Occitane Solidarity Soap supports World Sight Day and is a bit of a snip at £4.50 with 100% of profits going to support eye health projects around the world. And, there’s no wooliness either about how that profit breaks down – it’s 100% of retail price minus taxes, transport and production. Good, glad someone has said it out loud instead of wafting about some undecipherable stats at me.

World Sight Day is so important – there are so many charities vying for our attention that it’s hard to know where to go. The issue of sight doesn’t come up very often in beauty world but for the 285 million people in the world who are visually impaired, 80% of it is preventable. That’s quite a shock.

L’Occitane is one of the groundbreaking beauty brands that labels in Braille – something many, many brands need to take note of. Look out for L’Occitane Solidarity Soap from 9th October.

  1. I think this is wonderful. I love it when brands make a genuine effort to do something good, and I didn’t know L’Occitane labelled in braille, mad respect to them for that. I don’t normally purchase their stuff because…I don’t know actually! But this has made me want to try them out because it’s cool to support a good cause.

What a great idea. I’ve seen Braille labels at Superdrug (on their own brand products, if I recall correctly), but it’s nice to see other companies doing it as well. Plus I need more soap. 🙂
