Lisa Eldridge Liquid Lurex New Shades

[unpaid/sample] Liquid Lurex is one of those marvellous products that does the job with the minimum of effort but maximum results.

I have three of the new colours to show you – I firmly thought the taupe-y tones of Emily would be my go-to but it turns out to be Zora, a chocolate shade that I’ve completely fallen for. I’ve been, let’s say, unexcited by eyeshadows for a while but it just goes to show that all it takes is the right product to bring back the mojo and Zora has done it for me.

In the line up is Zora, Emily and Daphne, a sage-gold tone. In my head, I’m calling them sweater shades – they’ll bring life to any winter palette you’re wearing, clothes wise, and I tend towards the neutral knit that benefits from a bit of complementary accessorising with make-up. At this point, mornings are chilly and I’m regretting not doing the summer job I had planned to of washing all my knitwear before I really need it.

The formula for these gives a water-sheen finish – it’s truly beautiful. Not quite metallic but light reflective and gently shimmery. Interestingly, blending seems to increase the radiance of them. I didn’t take the doe’s foot directly to my lids but instead used a blending brush picking up from the doe’s foot and then going to my lids. I’ve seen Lisa’s application video and she goes direct but I’d rather use too little and be cautious with a brush than overload at the get-go – you can always add more and it’s far more difficult to remove than layer. In the swatch from bottom to top it’s Zora, Emily and Daphne. There’s a purple shade I’d quite like to try just for the drama of it – if you love glam, take a look at Iris.

This is Zora buffed up – the sheen shows more but the colour shows less so if you want depth, you need to go again.

This is one application of Zora – go again for a deeper note. Liquid Lurex HERE is £19 and worth every single one of those pennies :-).

I’m really interested in these but not sure about if they’re too glittery. I’m getting on and always tend to go for matte. But Zora is my colour absolutely.

They’re not so much glittery on the eye – more lightful and sheeny .. but you definitely see the sparkle content when you come to take it off. It seems to hold together very well.

I love these eyeshadows! I had a couple from the original launch and this time round got Emily and Iris.

Seeing the Zora on you, I might have to go back for it (maybe I’ll put it on the list for Santa!).

This looks great on you x

Thanks for that. I am very tempted…..

I have Bianca and Emily & love them both. I would say that Bianca is definitely more sparkly than Emily. They last so well. My husband hosts festivals & I’ve worn Bianca & it’s lasted really well. Did the ultimate test in the lying in state queue last weekend. I put on Bianca Sat AM & it still looked good at 5am Sunday morning when we got home!! Emma x

      Well, that’s an excellent accolade!

Oh, they are adorable! I have Lauren, Liza, Zora and Iris. It feels that you just touch your lid with shadow and it spreads itself! Also, the shimmer blurs your skin texture and does not accentuate it… Just the Iris is a disappointment to me – it’s gorgeous purple when not blended, but if I try to blend all the shimmer is gone and it looks just dirty, like an actual blue eye :(. As eyeliner it’s ok though (as we see on video). I guess the formula of Iris is somehow different.

oh that’s interesting.. I wanted to try Iris but somehow didn’t.

What’s the longevity? My eyelids seem to absorb or eat eyeshadow.

I think bottom line if you are prone to losing colour due to oil, this probably won’t last much longer – I found it stayed really well but my lids aren’t particularly oily so it’s really hard to say. See if there are some oily lid reviews on Google.

See my post above about how long Bianca lasted on me. On festival days it looks as good at the end of the day as it does at the beginning. I haven’ t tested Emily for as long, so can’t guarantee the longevity of that one. FYI when I wore Bianca I did use an eye primer underneath (the Balm Put a lid on it).
