Ooh! Fuzzy packaging! This is the yet to launch Lipstick Queen take on lilac all wrapped up in a strokable box.
Obviously named for Marie Antoinette’s infamous misquote, it’s certainly adventurous and different.
Poppy King has added in warm gold tones in the form of shimmer to a lilac-nude base – personally, I don’t love the effect because I’m not a shimmer lip fan at all, but I really haven’t seen another lipstick like this.
It’s pretty heavy on the frosting, but you get smatterings of an almost rose gold effect as well on top of the lilac-nude base; kind of intriguing but also, to my mind, a little bit ’80s – no harm in that but I’m not sure how easy it will be to wear. And, I’m gasping a little bit because it’s £35! Hope those sprinkles of glitter are 24K.
Lipstick Queen Let Them Eat Cake launches into SpaceNK in May.

When did it become ok to price a lipstick at £35?!
It was stealing my heart until £35, then I wimped a little. It just really pretty and I could pull the colour off perfectly.
The French for that would have been: ‘Qu’ils mangent de la brioche’! Not as glam.
It look’s rather pretty but I’m not really a frost lippy kind of girl however it’d be nice to see it in person and decide if it’s a definite purchase. Until recently I didn’t own any Lipstick Queen lippy’s but then I found two in a clothing fashion shop here that also stock’s some Boot’s product’s and W7 so I’d definitely if I can find it check it out but £35 is a bit too much. I’d splurge if it was the right colouring and I liked it but it seem’s rather expensive for Poppy King, unless that’s the new retail price for her product’s in 2014. Eek!
I was sooo hoping to get this beauty before my birthday next weekend. Do you have any update when it will be available to buy, dear Jane? xx
