I’m completely new to the newly launched Laura Mercier Velour Lovers Lip Colours which are a mix of mattifying powders and mango butter for a velvet lip finish.

Matte lipsticks are not my friends, but these seem to be more forgiving – and more importantly, less drying – than others I’ve found. There’s a drop of hyaluronic acid in the mix which I am sure makes all the difference in keeping lips looking and feeling smoother. The pigment is satisfyingly rich and even and if you love that nearly-matte coverage with a smooth feel rather than dry, then these are an obvious treat-to-self! I like the compactness of Laura Mercier lipsticks – they feel solid and durable. In the swatch from bottom to top are: Boudoir, French Kiss and Cocoa Pout which is a deep brown shade. I definitely can’t wear dark brown lipsticks myself but whenever I see someone else wearing them I think they look stunning.
You can find Laura Mercier Velour Lovers Lip Colours for £22 each HERE.

Hi Jane, don’t know if it’s just me but the link to the lipsticks doesn’t work. Probably for the best as I think i probably would have spent a small fortune 🙂

Kerry, it’s working now.. thanks for flagging :-)))
Just wanted to say, they need to improve their imagery of the colours of the lipsticks! I ordered Infatuation, the colour on all images on the net is of a milky, ballet pinky peach which I was chuffed about so got next day delivery couldn’t wait to slap it on the lips. However, when it arrived, it is a really deep pink/coral! Absolutely nothing at all like what is presented on websites. I always allow for a difference in image to reality but this is the worst I’ve ever encountered. The feel of it is really nice so was gutted that it is not for me at all. So I’d advise anyone thinking about purchasing to definitely go to a counter to see them in person first!!
