More matte magic, this time from Laura Mercier with the Velour Lovers Lip Colours. If I compare them to the YSL Mats that I featured on Friday, they’re drier in consistency but have a richer level of pigment. There’s enough mango butter in the mix that they don’t feel dry on the lips, but they’re not as buttery as the YSL Mats.
See what I mean about the pigment! It’s intense. Shades from bottom to top are: Indiscretion, Devotion, Seduction and Addiction. Addiction is described as a burnt orange but it looks very red to me. Laura Mercier Velour Lovers Lip Colours are fairly ‘flat’ in their matte but not quite that very dry feel or look as with products like Sleek Matte Me. Despite having hyaluronic acid in the mix, I did feel they showed up every crease on my lips and that these would only be for the smooth lip blessed!
Laura Mercier Velour Lovers Lip Colours launch in July for £22 each which put up against all the £25+++ lipsticks I’ve been seeing lately, suddenly seems reasonable!
