You’ve got to hand it to Kirsten Carriol for single-handedly reviving the reputation of Lanolin in beauty products. I use Lanolips lip balm every single day of my life, and I can’t recommend it highly enough. Two new products have just hit the shelves and they’re equally brilliant to my eyes although have two different textures and functions.
Lanolips Lovely Lanolin Golden Ointment
This wonder ointment is really for those with super-dry skin – if your skin isn’t dry, you really don’t need it but it is handy for cuticles and elbows, knees and scaly feet! A blend of Ultra Medical Grade Lanolin, Manuka Honey (anti-bacterial) and Vitamin E with nothing else, it squeezes out of the tube super-thick. Because of its density, it doesn’t immediately sink into the skin, but acting as both moisturiser and barrier, you’d kind of expect that. I’d want this by my side on days when the weather is freezing and the wind is whipping every last drop of moisture away from your skin. A great thing to have on hand if you do any wintery walks and as a general SOS balm if your skin is super-dry.
Triple Buttermilk Body Balm for Very Dry Skin
Personally, I much prefer the texture of this balm, which despite its name, feels like a very rich body moisturiser rather than what we would naturally think of as a balm. I love the smell; a sweet and milky clean fragrance and it contains Ultra Pure Medical Grade Lanolin, milk extracts and Vitamin E. The texture is lovely; just thick enough to need a bit of working in but not so much you wish you hadn’t bothered! And, it works instantly to take any dryness away from the skin. My tip is to put it on just-shaved legs because they will feel utterly amazing! You can get on the wait-list for Golden Ointment at www.victoriahealth.com where it is £17.99 and I’m sure there will be one soon for the Body Balm as well.
And finally, I got to test a Lovely Lanolin Herbal Treatment body oil which is coming our way soon – beautiful, silky, softening and lush. Hurry up!
