Lanolips A CEW Winner

If you aren’t sure what CEW is, the initials stand for Cosmetic Executive Woman and is for those in the beauty industry to network, learn and socialise. Every year, CEW holds its beauty awards where the great and the good in beauty vote for the winner. So, if you do scoop an award you know it’s because you really do deserve one. I would point out though, that in order to enter, you do have to pay, so some very small brands can’t afford to supply the number of samples required (a lot) or pay the fee to enter. I don’t know what the fee is, in fact, but I do know it isn’t free. In one way this is a good thing because it ensures that only the brands that really want to be there are, but on the other hand I do have a little reservation about it maybe excluding some start-ups.

That said, the CEW lunch where the winners are announced is always a really fun event and a good chance to see lots of beauty friends in one place. Of all the awards that were dished out on Friday, the one I was happiest to see was Best New Skincare Treatment Product going to Lanolips 101 Cream. Lanolips also tied with Dr Organic in the Best New Brand category. Owner, Kirsten Carriol has waged a one-woman campaign to get Lanolin back on the beauty map. It is an absolute favourite of mine.

Once I found out where lanolin comes from I stopped using it immediately. it might be a great moisturiser but it’s GROSS!

  2. I haven’t tried these yet but I really want to after so many amazing reviews.

  3. Lemon Aid is amazing. I have 3 tubes – one for home, one for my office and one for my handbag… love, love, love it.
