This is something very special – I am absolutely certain that I have never seen anything like the Lancome Jumelés Limited Edition before, but the double lipstick holder has been created for the brand’s 80th year anniversary.
This is a reproduction of a jewel piece created by Armand Petitjean, Lancome’s founder, in 1958. Jumelés means twins in French and the two lipsticks inside are shades that can be used individually or to create an ombre lip look (the modern twist on this piece). I’ve done a search for vintage double lipstick holders – it was definitely a ‘thing’ but there really aren’t many around, so it was unusual then, as it is now.
I just think the Lancome Les Jumelés Limited Edition is really special – so beautiful and definitely a collector’s item and probably no surprise that it’s at Harrods only. It’s £220.

Are the colours themselves limited editions? I love the look of them!
good question.. I didn’t have very long with them but I believe they are existing shades. Which, I am not sure x
Are those the only colors available? I absolutely love the double lipstick case, and I’m just crazy enough to spend that kind of money for it — but only if the lipstick comes in colors that I can actually wear.
Jumelles, surely?
I wondered.. but it’s clearly only one ‘l’ on the information I have.. I will double check in case things got lost in tranlsation x
It means “the twinned”, not “the twins” – it’s gramatically correct 🙂
Oh :)) thanks! I must learn French properly one day!
Jumelles are either binoculars or female twins! Jumelés would mean paired, so I guess it’s right!
I am not sure that I like it Jane – sorry! It’s very classy but doesn’t look anything special to make me want to part with £220. I think this is something that will appeal to collectors like you say with it being based on an original piece. Perhaps it looks better in the flesh?
That is SO STUNNING. I’ve been begging for Lancome to start doing recreations of their vintage packing for AGES and when they finally do it it’s unbelievably expensive and not available in the US. Excuse me while I go cry for like a year.
I was oooohing and aaahing until I saw the price and then I was like “no”.
I can’t find it anywhere on the Harrod’s site, so I’m guessing it’s available in-store only. Booooo!! So not fair.
Love the lipstick
