Laduree: From Cakes to Cosmetics

Beauty land is awash with the news that the brand that put the mmm into macaroons, French patisserie, Laduree, is to launch a cosmetics range with a full line up from foundations to blush to lip colours. Laduree already offer candles, face cream, serum, hand creams and fragrances, so I guess that a colour collection is a natural progression for them.

The make up range is called Les Merveilleuses de Laduree (the wonders of Laduree). There is a cameo shape holder for blush that is beautiful; white with a gold cameo facing; the foundation is again a white embellished lid – in fact, the whole thing is looking very gold and white; clean and elegant with quirky twist. It’s very French, very fancy and has all the makings of being one of those ‘ohhhh’ brands that are so pretty, you have to have some, no matter what, particularly petal shaped face colours. Interestingly, it is the same company, Albion, bringing the creativity to Laduree that also makes cosmetics for Anna Sui and Paul & Joe, and if you know your packaging, you’d instantly make the connection.

  1. Sounds great. Cake and cosmetics… stuff of dreams 🙂 xx

  2. Aimee

This sounds amazing, can’t wait to see the products!

  3. I’m a bit of a Ladurée purist and am not keen on the direction they’re taking.

I’d have to see the products to have a proper opinion, but I didn’t really like the Ladurée pour Sephora body range and find some of the candles a bit sickly.

We’ll see, I hope they do it well.

I can’t wait to see this!

  5. Sounds delightful. I wonder where they’ll be selling the range?

Lovely! I still remember Laduree x Sephora collaboration, these lipglosses and macaron-shaped soaps were great and smelled of violets, brioche and vanilla.
    Merry Christmas!
