Lacquer Lab Novella Collection for Winter 2014 is a gorgeous edit of colours that are exactly right for doing things a little differently. Lacquer Lab is a little bit the same as ButterLondon in that they take a colour and make it one or two shades ‘off’ which makes it edgy and interesting.

So, the shade line up from left to right is: Cigarillo (a coffee tinted nude), Lover At The Ritz (a brown-plum), Storyteller (a greyed blue), Pocket Full of Jewels (gold glitter mix), The Wonderous (off-pink) and A Lady’s Confession (burnished pink). Lacquer Lab Novella Collection has obvious connections to winter 2014 catwalk looks – I think it’s their strongest collection yet.

In terms of formula, it’s rich and glossy, picking up the light easily. If I had to pick one shade, it would be Storyteller – that’s a colour that will look great all through autumn and winter with everything. You can buy the whole set or individually. I was talking to someone yesterday who was feeling that there is just too much choice and when it comes to nails, it’s true – there are so many colours to pick from you can end up picking nothing at all. I like the convenience of a pre-edited colour range that you can just click and buy as one lot, and that’s your winter trend nail job completely done.

As the Lacquer Lab Novella Collection hasn’t launched yet (you’re getting a sneaky peek), I noticed the six strong Naked Ladies collection on sale for £19 with a mix of metallic and creme nudes. It’s very tempting and it’s HERE.
