If you ever lusted after the Chanel or Dior ‘bouncy’ eye shadows (Illusion D’Ombre and Fusion Mono respectively), with a whipped mousse consistency, but didn’t fancy the price tag, Kiko’s newest collection, Luxurious, has virtually the same thing for £11. I’ve put the Kiko version to the test up against both the other offerings and with one small exception, there is literally no difference.
These are all currently in use (bar the top one which is a pristine Kiko) and I love the finish and consistency of both Chanel and Dior. But Chanel Illusion D’Ombre is £25 and Dior Mono Fusion is £24.
On the swatch, the first is Dior in Millenium, the second is Chanel in Fatal and the third and fourth are Kiko Exquisite Jasper Green and Kiko Supreme. These are as good a dupe for premium brands as I know of.
I mentioned a slight difference, and that’s that the Kiko version feels a little ‘wetter’ when you first touch it – and that may be that my others have lost some moisture because I’ve had them a while. Once on, it feels no different. I haven’t tested for last but from initial impressions, I think it’s exactly the same formula.
The Kiko Luxurious Collection has already launched HERE and I’d highly recommend the shadows for a little pot of luxury at a less than luxury price.

I love a good dupe! Thanks for the swatches. Now to track down a Kiko stockist near me.

There’s a KIKO ten minutes away from my house… so tempted!

very interesting! still love the chanel ones even though 2 of them are shrinking around the sides of the pot.
I love Kiko! Their eye shadow sticks are also great dupes for the more expensive ones x

I have a theory on Kiko, in that it’s actually a supplier/manufacturer for the luxury brands who have decided to open their own stores. There are just too many dupes in there at such a speed, and the volume of product is insane! I have a feeling that it’s the same factory making the Chanel/Nars etc stuff but just putting it into cheaper packaging. It’s very similar to how a lot of suppliers in the fashion industry work…x
Good theory… not least because Kiko is based in Italy where a lot of the premium cosmetics are made (or used to be – I think there is a general shift to China).
I love Kiko, but I haven’t tried this eyeshadow yet. I did recently get an eyeliner there which is exactly the same colour as one I saw at Sephora (but without the dimethicone).
