Kiko Campus Idol Collection

I’m going to say upfront that I just don’t get the Kiko Campus Idol Collection at all. It’s all about a cheer-leader, old school style look, but, er, why? There’s exciting retro and then there’s this. The outer packaging reflects American University colours with style elements that we recognise, such as chevrons and stripes and logos, but I can’t really get into it at all.

So, in the picture above is the All Stars Face Palette (£14.90) with a bronze, blush and highlighter.

Next up is the Eye Palette – lord, it’s so dull! Put next to all the amazing nude shade palettes available, it’s so sad.

I mean, is it me?

Slightly more inspiring are the creamy Double Match Lipstick & Liner – an all in one lip colour and liner (at the far end).

In the swatch above are: Sweet Marsala, Modern Red (which I have to admit is an awesome red) and Cool Rose and they’re £7.90 each.

This is the part of the collection that I really do like – I have two shades of the Double Dare Eyeshadow & Liner (£7.90) and they’re quite vivid and lively with a beautiful sheen.

Above are Copper & Chocolate, and Lilac and Plum. I really can’t put my finger on what isn’t resonating about this.. the last collection from Kiko that I blogged was amazing – one of the best highlighters I’ve ever seen. Let me know what you think… am I being a party pooper about the Kiko Campus Idol Collection? It’s HERE if you want to check out the rest of the range.

    God, that’s dull!

  2. I think this is something I would have been into when I was at school, particularly if it were from an American brand. It doesn’t make much sense to me though. It feels seems like it would exclude a lot of ‘grown ups’ & Kiko are an Italian brand! This is one I’ll be passing on. Xx

Yawn. Not excited by this, the colours are boring (and I’m not one for anything but neutrals!) plus the eyeshadows all look same-y

Those eyeshadow stick colours are very pretty. I guess that palette would be good for a subtle smokey eye? I’d prefer it if it were more pigmented maybe :/

  5. I have a Bobbi Brown neutral palette with very similar colours to this Kiko one. I bought it years ago on a plane because I thought it would be “practical” but it is so yawnsome there’s barely a dent in it. I use the mirror all the time though…

Kiko has done amazing collections, this one is a flop…the packaging looks juvenile and marketed to teens.

I totally get your disappointment. I feel like Kiko has no direction with the way they create collections, the most random brand.

It feels old school but not in a good way! There are other ‘neutral’ palettes at all price ranges that are more exciting than this. I realize it isn’t expensive but there are other drugstore options that have more va-voom than this. I don’t get it either.
