Kiko Best Friend Forever Collection

In terms of packaging, the Kiko Best Friend Forever Collection is delightful. It’s obviously themed for Valentine’s Day, and the Kiko twist on that is that it’s all about friendship. Which is sweet. But, it does feel like a very young range – something my 13 year old niece would like, not my 30-something friend.

The Love Elixir Face Powder (above) is £14.90 in a bright, Kate Spade-ish, pink and red box, containing two shades of blush and one bronzer. So, pick ’em out or swirl them together for a cheek look.

I do really like the Endless Love Lipsticks (£5.90) for their heart shaped bullet. Probably not very practical (sorry, no swatches on this yet… ) but very lovely to look at. Alongside these items that I’ve pulled from the range are nail polishes (red and pink), fragrance (don’t know, haven’t gone there!), lip liners and mascara, plus a sweet little lip balm.

I think the balm is the most giftable thing in the range if you do Valentine’s gifts for daughters, friends, sons, whoever.. and nicely presented in a little pink velvety bag.

You probably guessed already that it smells of strawberries! It’s £4.90. You can find the whole collection HERE.

Kiko is usually great value for their price point, but this just looks a little twee for my tastes. Think you hit the nail on the head at the age group it’s for x

  3. Omg. The lipstick is gorgeous. I will be checking that out. Love Kiko they always do such lovely collections.

I love Kiko, their shadow sticks & highlighting stick are items I use practically every day, but I’m a bit cross with them at the moment. They finally opened a new store in Cardiff a month ago (no promotion though, would have been nice to have an email through or something) – and the address on their website (and the one they tweeted me – the same address) was wrong. It led to the street they presumably get their mail on, the back door of their shop (I presume! I couldn’t work it out – no signage or any obvious signs of a shop.) I eventually walked back through the big shopping centre (The Hayes) and spotted the store completely by chance – not at all where they said it was! In fact a long way inside it. As I say – I presume it must back onto the street that’s listed, but it’s not a customer entrance or even recognisable that any particular door is to do with Kiko. I’m not even convinced it does back on to there – just a presumption.

    Other smaller irritations:
    – They don’t list opening hours on their website and when I tweeted them they answered (yay! Thanks for the quick answer, that was good.) telling me to call the store and ask. Surely they know when they’re open in different locations?

    – They told me the long lasting eyeshadow sticks were still on sale for half price (which they hadn’t been online the day before, but the day they told me it looked like they’d knocked the price back again.) I visited the store that day and was told they didn’t have the same offers as online. Fair enough, but when you’re offering free express delivery online why would I bother going to your bricks and mortar stores that offer worse value for money? (Far, far less on sale in the Cardiff branch.) Went online today to make my purchase and the sticks were back to full price, so annoying.

    – You can buy the Best Friends Forever collection online. In store? Nope. They have the products apparently (though staff didn’t seem especially enthusiastic about them, even when I was being reasonably keen about the novelty of a heart shaped lipstick etc) but they haven’t been sent the stands yet so can’t launch it.

    – When chatting to the shop assistants they mentioned that their phone number had been wrong for ages on the website and people used to come in and complain that they never answered the phone. (This was when I was complained about the misleading address.)

Tell a lie, I’m more than a bit cross with them. Their lack of cohesion between website and bricks and mortar seems to make the whole point of rolling out shops nearly nil.
