This is a bit of a moment for me – I’ve found a vanilla fragrance that I like!
Kiehls new Aromatic Blends come in four scents inspired from around the globe. Orangeflower & Lychee (that I would have put money on to be my favourite) represents Morocco, Figleaf & Sage is inspired by the South of France (and I hated it), Cedarwood & Vanilla gives African vibes and Japanese Nashi Blossom & Pink Grapefruit is so fresh and so pretty it’s kind of in a league of its own.
Each Aromatic Blend comes in a perfume, body cleanser and hand/body lotion and uses naturally derived and sustainably sourced ingredients. The thing about Vanilla & Cedarwood is that it uses Ugandan vanilla, known to be deep and spicy and a very far cry from the sweet, spongy scent that I associate with regular vanilla. A tad of iris brings in an amber element and the Cedarwood, instead of smelling of that deep perfumed woody thing that I hate because it reminds me of old wardrobes is mild and creamy. Together they make a beautiful, sensual and warm fragrance that doesn’t smell of cake mix and I’m absolutely in love with.
They’ll all be launching at Harrods this month and more than worth a look.

You’ve spelt Kiehls wrong throughout…
Thanks Rosie! I get it wrong every single time – one of those mental block things – I’m the same with khaki..
Glad they’re bringing out some new fragrances, their Original Musk Essence (discontinued) was an absolute favourite and I these sound lovely

Are these going to appear on Kiehls counters anywhere other than Harrods? The vanilla sounds like it might just be on the same lines as Le Labo Vanille 44 and well worth a look.
I also hate the Fig Leaf & Sage, it was the only one that I didn’t love. I’ve got the trio and it’s so frustrating, as I LOVE the body cleanser, it’s amazing, leaves skin so soft, but smells, as the hubby put it ‘like cat piss’. Not good.
