Hmm, is the future of nail brushes about to change? I’ve just spotted the Julep Plie Wand on US Sephora – it’s described as a polishing tool, and I really like the look of it. When you think about it, it makes sense that a longer handle would be more flexible – short stubby handles don’t really make any sense – you couldn’t write very easily with something nail polish lid shaped and it’s rather a similar thing in some ways.

The Julep Plie Wand set above features a dotting tool, striping brush, extra cap and precision brush and the wand – apparantly it’s a bit of a godsend for painting the hand that usually causes trouble (for me, it’s the left hand polishing the right). However, the mention that the wand handle pivots, twists and bends suddenly makes me think, wait, this is too complicated! Has anyone tried the Julep Plie Wand.. I would love some feedback before I order?

The only problem i can see with this is that nail polish is pretty tricky to fully remove so your polishes could get a little mixed together and cross contaminated. Great concept though.
This strikes me as strange. I love the idea of it but cleaning it could be a nightmare. Surely using Acetone on it would melt the plastic holding the bristles?
I like the idea of this. However, I’m thinking they’d be better creating something that attaches to existing nail polish lids so you don’t have to use the same brush in multiple polishes, otherwise it’s going to be a bit of a faff if you want to use more than one shade in a single sitting xx
Very interesting. I will probably pick this up at some point and see if it really makes it easier to use with your non dominant hand.

I think I’ll be sticking to cheap brush sets from ebay myself, this just seems like a faff.
It has a magnet (the little nub) that attaches to the three tools and to Julep lids. So you don’t use the same brush every time (although normal nail polish brushes are acetone-safe, so you could). If you paint your nails a lot, or do lots of nail art on yourself, you are probably ambidextrous enough not to need it!
