The newest launch from JF is John Frieda Miraculous Recovery which I tried recently. I don’t know if it’s fair to assess a shampoo and conditioner based on one use, but I think maybe if you’re going be shouty on the packaging that there’s something miraculous involved, maybe it’s ok.

The John Frieda Miraculous Recovery range claims to instantly reverse 75% of surface damage for 3x smoother hair. In effect this means that cracks and jagged edges caused by blow drying (the indisputable biggest cause) are repaired. But, my question is, if you use the shampoo and conditioner to wash your hair, are you repairing surface damage from the last blow dry while then going on to immediately blow dry your hair again and put the damage back to where it started? It’s not really clear. It’s also not really clear whether you need to use all of the range (there are four products) or just one of them to get the surface damage repair. So, would using all four products make it an even higher percentage, and if it’s just one product that will repair, then you don’t really need to buy all of it? See, this is where marketing gets really tricky and baffling.

Over a period of time, though, maybe it does reduce overall damage, which then can only be a good thing. What I will say was that I didn’t have any frizz at all, although was it 3x smoother? Impossible to say. It’s one of those claims that looks fab on paper but you can never really translate it accurately to your actual hair. Maybe, for example, it was 4x smoother – I’d never know!

If you do have dry and frizz prone hair though, my experience of a definite decrease in frizz makes me think that in regular use you’d be rather pleased with it. The John Frieda Miraculous Recovery range is HERE.
