Jo Malone White Moss & Snowdrop Fragrance

Jo Malone White Moss & Snowdrop Fragrance

This limited edition fragrance isn’t a particularly big story for Jo Malone – in fact, I think they’ve pared back their Christmas offerings this year although Orange Bitters is back for a temporary period of time. White Moss & Snowdrop is only available in a candle or larger size cologne. It’s a shame there is no small cologne this time around although you can get Orange Bitters. I noticed on Hayley’s blog (HayleyHall.uk) that there is also a limited edition of Ginger Biscuit in a golden glittery bottle which I think is perhaps in-store only. I love Ginger Biscuit – one of the few foodie scents I adore – I have one from last year and just spritz it over the tree or randomly in the hall. Can I just mention if you do this, your entire family thinks you’ve just made a fresh batch of delicious cookies which, er, wasn’t the case.

What’s lovely about the new offering is that it uses iridescent glass that catches the winter light every now again and positively glows a rainbow. So special. The fragrance itself is more festive inspired than you might imagine. I was brought up in Scotland so I know exactly the smell of snowdrops in woodland snow and it’s not this. Jo Malone’s version takes amber, cardamom, clementine, petitgrain and tonka beans to create something that is definitely mossy, but warm and seasonal rather than giving the cool rush of outside forest frosts. There is a bulbish note, I think, somewhere in the mix, but I feel you will pick up the amber, cardamom and woody moss notes before anything else.

This fragrance launch marks Christmas season for the brand – there are all the usual suspects: crackers, candles, the luxury cologne selection (£370!! but goodness how I’d like it!), a bauble and smaller cologne collections that are a bit more friendly at £70 for five.

Strangely, at the time of writing, The Jo Malone link to their seasonal products isn’t working, so I’m sending you to John Lewis instead HERE for the cologne, which is £96. I’ve also noticed that there is a Pine & Eucalyptus Room Spray, £46, which might very well be mine before the day is out. It’s HERE.
